6 v 6 Dodgeball Tournament Rules
• Team Size: Each team consists of 6 players on the court with up to 2–3 substitutes.
• Court Dimensions: Use a standard volleyball-sized court (30 ft x 60 ft). Mark a center line and attack lines
10 ft from center.
• Game Start: Place 6 dodgeballs evenly along the center line. Players begin behind their back line. At the
referee's signal, teams rush to retrieve balls.
• Objective: Eliminate all players on the opposing team by hitting them with a live ball, catching a ball they
throw, or forcing them out of bounds.
• Live Ball: A ball is live until it touches the ground, wall, ceiling, or a non-player object.
• Throwing & Blocking: Players may block with a ball. If a player drops their ball due to a hit, they are out.
Headshots do not count if the opponent is standing still.
• Catches: Catching a live ball eliminates the thrower and allows one eliminated teammate to return to play.
• Out-of-Bounds: Players are out if they step completely out of bounds, except when retrieving a ball.
• Stalling: If a team controls most of the balls, they must throw at least one ball within 5–10 seconds.
• Match Format: Games are best-of-3 or played within a 10-minute timer. Most wins in that time win the
match.
Ball Count: Always 6 balls on the court at once.
Winning Condition: Eliminate all players or have more remaining players at timeout.
6 v 6 Volleyball Rules
• Team Size: Each team has 6 players on the court. Substitutes may be used and must rotate in according to
league/tournament rules.
• Court Dimensions: Standard court size is 30 ft x 60 ft, with a net height of 7 ft 11 5/8 in for men and 7 ft 4
1/8 in for women.
• Scoring: Matches are usually best-of-3 or best-of-5 sets. Rally scoring is used (a point is awarded on every
rally). A set is won at 25 points, win by 2.
• Rotations: Teams rotate clockwise each time they win the serve from the opponent. Players must maintain
their rotational order.
• Serving: The server must stand behind the end line and cannot step on or over it until after contact with the
ball.
• Hits per Side: Each team is allowed up to 3 hits per possession (not including a block). A player may not hit
the ball twice in succession.
• Net Rules: Players cannot touch the net during play. A ball that touches the net during a rally or serve is still
in play.

Winning the Match: Team must win the majority of sets (2 of 3 or 3 of 5).
